Eco-friendly laundry: how we contribute to a sustainable future

Why we think about the environment

More and more people think about their impact on the environment. We at Palthe Den Haag understand this. That is why for years we have been trying to work more sustainably.

We believe that good laundry and environmental friendliness can go together. You do not have to make concessions on quality to be sustainable.

What we do for the environment

Using less water

Water is scarce. That is why we have systems that reuse water. Our newest machines use 40 percent less water than old machines.

We filter our water and use it again where we can. This saves water and we have to produce less wastewater.

Using less energy

Our dryers and washing machines are efficient. We use heat pump dryers that use less energy. LED lighting in our entire facility helps too.

We have solar panels on our roof. With those, we make part of our own energy.

Smart detergents

We use detergents that are biodegradable. That means they disappear by themselves in nature after a while. We do not use strong chemicals that are bad for the environment.

Our detergents are also safe for people with sensitive skin.

Green Cleaning

Green Cleaning is a special way of working that we use. With Green Cleaning:

• No harsh chemicals
• Less water usage
• Less energy usage
• Biodegradable products

Studies show that Green Cleaning works just as well as traditional methods. But it is better for the environment and for your clothes.

Packaging

We try to use less plastic. Our packaging is made of recycled material where possible. We use reusable garment hangers.

When we can, we leave plastic covers away. Your clothes come home just like that.

Delivery

Our delivery car drives efficient routes. This way we do not drive unnecessary kilometers. We plan our trips smart so we use as little fuel as possible.

How you can help

You can also contribute to sustainability:

1. Air out your clothes between wears. This way you need to wash less often.

2. Bring your clothes bundled to us. One trip is better than three trips with separate items.

3. Choose Green Cleaning when you bring your clothes to us.

4. Invest in good clothes that last longer. This way you need to buy new clothes less often.

5. Repair clothes instead of throwing away. We can do small repairs for you.
